Sometimes these challenges will require expertise in intellectual property, licensing, and cooperative research agreements. The resources below are available to investigators to support their development and dissemination of groundbreaking discoveries, collaborations with industry partners, and commercialization and investment opportunities.

Baylor College of Medicine Licensing Group

The Licensing Group at Baylor College of Medicine provides support to investigators by fostering strategic collaborations with industry through licensing, sponsored research, and new venture agreements. The Licensing Group also provides guidance about how publications and presentations can affect the licensing process.

BCM Technologies

BCM Technologies focuses on early stage investment opportunities in the life sciences and commercialization and investment opportunities outside of Baylor College of Medicine. Since its formation in 1983, BCM Technologies has launched more than 41 companies.

University of Houston College of Pharmacy Licensing

The Office of Intellectual Property Management in the University of Houston Division of Research manages patents, copyrights and trademarks. The office works with faculty and the Intellectual Property Committee to file patents for inventions. The principal goal of the Office of Intellectual Property Management is to foster research and scholarship through the effective transfer of University-wide technology to industry.
